疾管署表示,新增腸病毒個案為東部新生男嬰,出生9天後因發燒轉入新生兒加護病房,並陸續出現心跳加速、活動力下降、四肢肌張力弱等情形,雖醫院及時給予治療,個案仍不幸於發病1週後因多重器官衰竭及新生兒敗血症死亡;經檢驗審查確認為伊科病毒11型感染併發重症。經衛生單位調查,個案出生後均待在醫院,該醫院之前並無其他疑似腸病毒病例,個案父母及醫護人員等接觸者亦無疑似症狀,不排除該個案是遭無症狀者傳染。
據疾管署統計,上週國內腸病毒門急診就診人次共11510人次,較前一週下降8.5%,但疾管署表示上週逢端午連續假期,就診人次可能受醫療院所休診影響,若以急診就診病例千分比來看,則與前一週呈持平。

疾管署指出,新生兒可能藉由產前、生產過程或出生後的人際接觸等途徑感染腸病毒,一般於出生後1至14天發病,感染症狀從發燒、活力不佳、食慾降低等輕症,到腦炎、肺炎、多重器官衰竭等重症都有可能發生。提醒準媽媽產前14天至分娩後如有發燒、咳嗽、喉嚨痛、腹瀉、肋肌痛等症狀,應主動告知醫師;家中成人或幼兒等接觸者應落實以肥皂勤洗手,如有身體不適,應避免接觸新生兒,以降低病毒傳播風險。
此外,疾管署也籲請醫院、產後護理機構應加強感染管制措施,教托育機構或其他兒童常出入的公共場所業者等也應注意環境通風及定期清潔消毒,確保嬰幼兒免於腸病毒威脅。
